Boys’ Basketball
Dec. 19
Flintridge Prep (2-3) lost to Sierra Canyon (10-0) 74-41 in the home opener. Andrew Tsangeos had 18 points to lead the Rebels, but Prep played without starters Robert Cartwright and Dante Fregoso. Sierra Canyon had four players reach double figures, led by Jamani Spencer’s 15 points.

Prep’s next game is today at 6 p.m. against Bishop Diego in the Santa Barbara Tournament.

Girls’ Basketball
Dec. 19
The Prep varsity girls (7-1) jumped all over cross-town rival FSHA defeating the Tologs 51-33, behind the strong start of Tala Ismail who had 12 of her 14 points in the first half. The Rebels defense stepped it up, holding FSHA to only nine points in the first half, and a 34-9 lead. Renae Tamura led the team in the second half where she scored 10 of her game high 16 points. The game was a bounce-back win, as Prep lost their first game of the season Dec. 17 against South Pasadena.

The next game is Jan. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at Rosary High School.

Boys’ Soccer
The Rebels are 4-2 on the season so far. Their last game was a 3-0 victory over Sierra Canyon on Dec. 13. Their next game is scheduled for today against Calvary Murrieta at 7:30 a.m. at the Ontario Christian Tournament, which goes through Saturday.

Girls’ Soccer
Dec. 19
The Lady Rebels defeated San Marino 2-0 to improve their record to  3-0-3. Their next game is today at 7:30 a.m. vs. Montclair in the Ontario Christian Tournament, which like the boys’ team runs through Saturday.

Their next home game is against La Cañada Jan. 7 at 3:15 p.m.
