Late Wednesday night Montrose Search and Rescue members responded to a call concerning a missing hiker on Mt. Lukens.

Los Angeles Police Department received a 911 call from a hiker who said he was lost apparently on Mt. Lukens, said a Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s spokesman.

The phone number did not display when it was called into the LAPD.

Montrose Search and Rescue and CV Sheriff personnel were called out to look for the solitary hiker. The team searched the area for over two hours but found no trace of the

hiker.

The temperatures on snow covered Mt. Lukens and the surrounding area at the time of the search was about 32 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service.

“The team members said it was freezing,” said the sheriff’s spokesman.

At press time the CV Sheriff’s Station could not confirm that there was in fact a missing hiker. There were no reports of missing persons in the area. Due to the low temperatures and darkness the team called off the search about 11 p.m.
