4200 block of Chula Senda Lane in La Cañada Flintridge a vehicle was stolen along with its contents including silver antique dinnerware and a digital camera. The car was parked in the homeowners’ detached, unlocked garage. The theft happened overnight.
Feb. 5
500 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a woman reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was shopping at Ralphs Market at 3:15 p.m.
Feb. 4
400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, someone had attempted to break into the front door of the Bow-Tie Cleaners. An employee reported that the front door lock of the business was removed but the internal lock remained. A review of the surveillance camera at the location showed the suspect looking into the store, and then it appeared that he was trying to manipulate the front lock. He left the location, returned a short while later and tried the door again in an apparent attempt to enter. When he was unsuccessful he walked away.
Verdugo Boulevard between La Tour Way and Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, deputies stopped a 58-year-old La Crescenta woman driving at an excessive speed. She was unable to provide proper vehicle registration or up-to-date insurance information. According to deputies, her vehicle registration had expired in 2008 but there was a 2010 yellow registration tag on her license plate. She told the deputy that she had not paid for her registration but found the yellow tag on the ground at a parking lot and placed it on her license plate. She was stopped at 7:20 a.m.
2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a Ralphs Market employee reported seeing three men all between 19 and 22 years of age enter the store together. While two of the men were at the register paying for items, the other man walked out of the store with a large case of beer and two bottles of vodka without attempting to pay. The employee confronted the man in the parking lot and a brief scuffle occurred. One of the glass bottles fell to the ground and shattered. The man placed the beer and unbroken bottle of vodka on the ground and allegedly said, “OK, I dropped it. Now let me go.” The man then fled the area at 12:45 a.m.
Feb. 3
3100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a rear passenger window was broken and a camera, portable media player and several other items were stolen from a vehicle between 8 and 9 p.m.
500 block of Foothill Boulevard of La Cañada, a woman reported that her wallet was stolen while she was working at Ralphs Market. According to the report, the woman had placed her wallet in one of the freezers as she was restocking items. On occasion she would walk away from the area. She discovered her wallet stolen between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
2400 block of Florencita Avenue in Montrose, someone threw a rock at a vehicle and smashed the rear window between 5 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
3900 Chevy Chase Drive in La Cañada, someone shattered the bedroom window of a home. The alarm system was activated, deputies responded. No one gained entrance to the home reported at 2:30 p.m.
3800 Park Place in Montrose, the left rear passenger window was smashed and a gym bag was stolen overnight.
3100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, the right front passenger window was smashed; nothing was reported missing from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the Bank of America parking lot overnight.
2400 Rockdell Street in La Crescenta, several items were stolen from four vehicles at four separate homes in the Rockdell neighborhood. Items stolen included two car stereos, digital cameras, video game console and games and a global positioning system. In each incident the vehicles had at least one window shattered.
