The Republican Club of the Foothills (RCF) held its Feb. 27 dinner meeting at the La Cañada Thursday Club. Three different speakers energized and educated the more than 60 persons in attendance.
The main speaker was Lawrence Peck who gave an informative presentation on Korean politics. Peck’s candor, enthusiasm, sincerity and humor filled the room as he artfully captured the attention of the audience. Korea may be on the “other side of the world,” but politically many consider it here in our backyard.
J. S. Choi, a prominent conservative leader of Koreatown in downtown L.A. then warmly and affectionately spoke of the Korea’s appreciation for what the USA has contributed to South Korea. He spoke in his native language with Dr. Seok Jo, a prominent businessman of La Crescenta, translating.
Susan Arnall, a maternal warrior by day (mother of seven, ages 5 to 18) who moonlights in the evenings as a conservative activist addressed the City of Glendale 7% utility tax initiative.
RCF president Phil Downs encourages citizens to become involved by knowledgably arming themselves concerning the critical issues and candidates in this year’s pivotal election.
