The heart of a house is its kitchen where everyone seems to gather. The designers of the revamped kitchen for this year’s Showcase House of Design know this and are bringing unique materials, including leather-brushed limestone and porcelain flooring, that will offer an inviting place to congregate.

“Many people only think stone for flooring, but porcelain is a wonderful alternative,” said lead designer Cynthia Bennett of Cynthia Bennett & Associates, Inc.

Tickets are now on sale for the Showcase House of Design 2014. They can be ordered online at www.PasadenaShowcase.org or, for an additional fee, tickets may also be purchased by phone at (714) 442-3872. The house is open from April 13 to May 11 (Mother’s Day).

Primetime tickets ordered in advance are priced at $40 for weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., and weekends from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The weekday matinee tickets are $35 for Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesdays through Fridays from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
