LOS ANGELES COUNTY AIR SHOW NIGHT AT THE HANGAR
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be among the air show performers attending and addressing the crowd at the Los Angeles County Air Show Night at The Hangar. Benefitting the Flight Test Historical Foundation, the event is open to the public beginning at 6 p.m. on March 21 as a continued celebration of the inaugural Los Angeles County Air Show. Tickets are currently on sale and festivities will include a performance by the Jacob Nelson Band and conclude with a JetHawks fireworks display.

General admission tickets are $10 each. Traditional ballpark food and beer will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

The Sons of Norway Edvard Grieg Lodge is playing norge (Norwegian bingo) at Lutheran Church of the Foothills on Saturday, March 22. GUEST POETS TO FEATURE MARIKO KITAKUBO, KATHABELA WILSON
The Village Poets of Sunland-Tujunga presents guest poets Mariko Kitakubo and Kathabela Wilson at the upcoming Monthly Reading Series on Sunday, March 23 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Bolton Hall Museum. Kitakubo, from Japan, and Wilson, from Pasadena, will be presenting a poetic dialogue using ancient Japanese poetry form, the tanka.Their presentation will be accompanied by Japanese flutes by Rick Wilson, a math professor at Caltech in Pasadena who is a collector and player of flutes of the world.

Light refreshments will be  served; a $3 donation is appreciated.

‘MISS REPRESENTATION’ AT GLENDALE LIBRARY
The screening of “Miss Representation” will take place on Tuesday, March 25 at 7 p.m. in the Glendale Public Library Auditorium. The film and post screening discussion are free to the public. Those who have already seen the film are welcome to join for the discussion at approximately 8:30 p.m.

The film, released in 2011, presents how women and girls are under-represented in positions of power and influence in America.

An accompanying curriculum for educators of K-12 and college level students is available through the City of Glendale Library, Arts and Culture Dept. as part of this program. Educators and parents are particularly encouraged to attend.

MUSIC & CONVERSATION
On March 28 at 7 p.m. at McGroarty Arts Center, violinist Dr. Svetlana Oganesian will be performing while entertaining and educating her audience with interesting stories about the pieces and their composers. A celebration of  Bach’s birthday is planned with a trio for flute, violin and piano; also Piazzolla trio for flute, violin, piano and some scintillating violin pieces.
