The Kiwanis AM Club of La Cañada honored St. Bede students Raul Murello and Lauren Nettles during its Jan. 31 meeting. Joe Thompson, president of the Kiwanis Club, presented the pair with TERRIFIC Kids awards.

TERRIFIC Kids is a student recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance. “TERRIFIC” is an acronym for thoughtful, enthusiastic, respectful, responsible, inclusive, friendly, inquisitive and capable.

Students work well with their classroom teacher to establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance or schoolwork. All students who achieve their goals after a specified time are recognized as TERRIFIC Kids.

Recognition includes being penned as a “TK” and enjoying a pizza, ice cream or other food theme party and being presented with certificates and other giveaways.
