The Crescenta Valley High School band needs the public’s help in identifying those who stole their travel trailer.

The travel trailer was parked in the school’s over flow parking lot on the west side of Ramsdell Avenue on the north of Community Avenue.

“We think someone stole the trailer last week on Wednesday or Thursday (Feb. 10-11),” said Paul Dutton, band booster parent.

Because the trailer is only used when the band travels it is not monitored on a daily basis.

“One parent noticed it missing but thought I had taken it. We had talked about getting our [logo] painted on it,” Dutton said.

The trailer did have several locks that appeared to be snapped, Dutton said.

The vehicle was purchased about a year ago. The band, through various fund raisers, raised the money.

“It took us a long time to raise the money,” Dutton said.

Before the purchase the band had to transport their instruments in various vehicles. It took anywhere from eight to 10 cars to load up the equipment and travel to competitions, football games and other functions.

“And we really need the trailer now that our band is growing,” Dutton added.

The marching band, orchestra and jazz band often volunteer their time to perform at official ceremonies like the grand opening of the La Crescenta Library and fundraisers for other organizations like Taste of Glendale that benefits Glendale Healthy Kids.

Dutton filed a crime report with the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station. He hopes that someone noticed the 16-foot white cargo trailer as it pulled out of the parking lot onto Ramsdell Avenue.
