GPD Requests Public’s Help

By Mary O’KEEFE

The Glendale Police Dept. is asking for the public’s help concerning a burglary that occurred at the Central Christian Church, 4459 Lowell Ave. in La Crescenta.

Police are looking for a male described as bald, 30-to-40 years old, 6′ to 6’2″ tall, with a heavy build of 250 to 275 pounds.

The burglary occurred on March 20 between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The suspect entered the church property and walked all around the grounds for over an hour. He was seen attempting to open at least one door unsuccessfully but then pried open the church office door and entered. He rummaged through drawers, holding a white cloth in his hand as he handled items.

He eventually turned the office surveillance camera around to apparently hide his actions.

The loss of the items stolen is unknown. It should be noted that the church, in the past, has experienced numerous unreported burglaries/thefts of electronic items, with the most recent being a stolen iPhone 5S on March 13. It is unknown if this suspect is responsible for the past incidents.

Anyone with information relating to this burglary is requested to contact Detective Kramer of the Glendale Police Dept. at (818) 548-2097.
