Glendale Soroptimist Honors Four

Soroptimist International of Glendale held its 15th Annual Accolades Live Your Dream awards luncheon on March 20 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Glendale.

Recognized was Cathy Keen, the Ruby Award winner for Women Helping Women, which honors women who, through their professional or personal efforts, are making extraordinary differences in the lives of women and girls.

Also honored was Allison Zadravecz, the Violet Richardson Award winner, which honors a high school student who is involved with volunteering in her community. The award comes with a cash grant of $750 for Zadravecz and the same to her charity, Hope Gardens. She is a student at Crescenta Valley High School.

Melissa C. Gonzalez was the Women’s Opportunity Award runner up. She was the recipient of a $1,600 cash grant.

Shanesha A. Franklin was the Women’s Opportunity Award grand prize winner of a $2,000 cash grant. The Women’s Opportunity Award is given to a woman who is the primary breadwinner for her family and is pursuing a college degree to make a better life for herself and her family.
