Glendale Water & Power in partnership with The Rahus Institute (Solar Schoolhouse) and Glendale Unified School District is inviting the community to attend the third-annual Glendale 2014 Solar Discovery Faire. The free faire will take place Saturday, April 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Middle School.
Attendees will learn about solar power through an array of fun activities and interactive demos. Students will showcase their solar projects and vendors will provide information on solar for homes and other opportunities. The faire is free and open to the public. First 300 attendees will receive a free event T-shirt. The Solar Schoolhouse program is a GWP Public Benefit Program designed to help teachers and students learn about the benefits of renewable energy. Teachers at the Glendale Unified School District receive training through GWP’s Solar Schoolhouse program in order to learn how to educate their students about the benefits of solar power. Each teacher receives up to $1500 worth of solar teaching supplies they can pick from for their classrooms through this program.
