La Cañada Presbyterian Church will host Pops 2014: Broadway Musical Magic on June 20 at 8 p.m. and June 21 at 4p.m.

POPS will feature songs from over 50 Broadway musicals in a fast-paced variety show that chronicles the musical history of New York’s Broadway and 42nd Street. Our Chancel Choir, along with the 7-piece Jack Lantz Little Big Band and Pops Summer Dancers will present an evening of fun, familiar and exciting music, focusing on the magic of Broadway.

Featured soloists will include Lori Stinson, Diane Wallace, Matthew Thomas, Gregory Geiger, Tom Malcolm, Joanne Horne, Ellen Kirstein, Lynette Davis, Tina Carey, Bill Lundeen, Tyler Wright and many, many others, and, of course, the Pops Dancers.  Selections will range from the traditional musicals My Fair Lady, Oliver, The Sound of Music, and Oklahoma to the contemporary Spamalot,The Producers, Matilda, The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables, among many others. All in all, over 50 Broadway musicals will be represented in styles ranging from Vaudeville to swing to rock to country to jazz and to music of the 21st century.

The singing, dancing, swinging and comedy are magically infectious and will send you out with a smile on your face and songs in your heart. POPS 2014: Broadway Musical Magic is another great opportunity to invite friends and members of the community to our church.  Tickets are $20 for reserved seats in the front rows and $15 for general admission.
