Traffic on the Foothill (210) freeway has been snarled most of the day due to a big rig accident that occurred Wednesday morning.

At 10:40 a.m., an accident involving a big rig and passenger vehicle occurred on the eastbound 210 just west of the La Tuna Canyon exit. The big rig overturned and crews have been working throughout the day to clear the freeway. As of 5:25 p.m., the westbound numbers one and two lanes were closed to traffic along with the eastbound number one lane.

“They are still working [on clearing the highway]. It is looking like it will be cleared about 7 p.m.,” said Officer Francisco Villalobos, California Highway Patrol.

The east and westbound lanes are closed due to the big rig going through the center divider of the freeway.

Another unrelated accident occurred on the westbound 210 at 4:56 p.m. this afternoon at the Sunland exit. The vehicles related to this accident have been moved over to the right shoulder and traffic is flowing.
