La Crescenta teens arrested

Officers from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department served three search warrants on Thursday, one in the 2500 block of Montrose.

The warrants stems from a strong-arm robbery that occurred on March 6 at the Cabazon Outlets in Cabazon, Calif.

“A purse was taken from [the victim],” said Sgt. Sean Bahasa, Riverside County Sheriff.

James Joon Kim, 18,  and Ji Min Park, 18,  both from La Crescenta were arrested for that robbery. Riverside sheriffs have identified the third suspect as John Kang, 18, of La Crescenta. Authorities will be arresting him as well, said Bahasa.

“Park was arrested [Thursday] … in Los Angeles,” Bahasa said.

On Sunday at 7 a.m., the deputies found Kim sitting on the curb in the 2500 block of Montrose Avenue.  When approached he gave deputies a name and provided identification that was not his. He was arrested for false impersonation. Through an investigation it was found Kim was a suspect in the robbery.

Kim is being held on a $25,000 bail. Park is being held without bail. Kang is a documented gang member.
