See You at the Car Show This Sunday!

Hello patriotic holiday weekend in the Montrose Shopping Park! When it comes to fun events and cars we know how to throw a party! We have so many cars this time we will be closing down all three blocks of Honolulu Avenue to fit them all in! Dave Maher who organizes the show is expecting 200 hot rods, 50 classic cars and 15 exotic cars! Have you ever heard a “cackle fest” before? It’s when all the cars rev up their engines at the same time. Hot rod organizer Don Tubbs will have a group of eight or more old drag racing and El Mirage cars that will start their engines for the cackle at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. You’ll find him and the cars at Ocean View Boulevard. It’s very thrilling to hear!

Dave McClelland, the voice of the National Hot Rod Association, will join us to announce all the fun. Also here are the L.A. Kings (Stanley Cup winners! Go Kings!) ice crew and the L.A. Galaxy promo crews. And guess who else? None other than Quacky the Duck raising awareness of the Kiwanis Club’s upcoming Incredible Duck Splash fundraiser. You heard it here first folks! We will have a produce-only Harvest Market at Wickham Way, live music and a sidewalk sale enhancing our 150 “one-of-a-kind” shops and restaurants. And yes, the town will be decked out in flags and red, white, and blue.
