On July 21, the La Cañada Flintridge City Council formally adopted its annual budget and financial plan for fiscal year 2014-15.
With the passage of this budget, city general fund reserves will be approximately $14.3 million by the end of the fiscal year, roughly 120% of the city’s annual operating budget.
La Cañada Flintridge has had a general fund operating budget surplus for more than a decade.
“The City of La Cañada Flintridge embodies the concept of doing more with less and using every resource in city hall to its fullest potential,” said City Manager Mark Alexander.
The budget includes $5.7 million allocated to capital improvement projects for FY 2014-15.
“Investing in the community is top priority for this council,” said Mayor Michael Davitt. “Because of our ongoing efforts in fiscal responsibility, the residents of La Cañada Flintridge will see their tax dollars going exactly where they should – back into our community.”
