Community Picnics!

Nothing says summertime like a community picnic!

All are invited to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station picnic hosted by Sgt. Gonzales and Dep. Alcala on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Flintridge Preparatory School in La Cañada. Enjoy Taco Guy, a bouncy house, baseball, swimming pool, basketball court and a fun day with family and friends!

Introducing our newest business member of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce! Whiz Computers, a computer hardware and software repair business, opened up about six months ago. Besides repairs, Whiz Computers also sells used computers and has fax services. Owner Jason Smith grew up in the L.A. area and although he worked in the construction industry most of his life he decided to use his years of computer knowledge to follow his dream of opening up his own computer business. Jason is engaged to his fiancé Samantha and has a six-month old daughter Nevaeh. Whiz Computers is located at 6924 Foothill Blvd. in Tujunga. Volunteers needed! Come this Saturday, Aug. 9 for the clean up of the La Crescenta Avenue off-ramp. The Crescenta Valley Chamber in partnership with the CV Town Council cleans this off-ramp the second Saturday of every month and help is always needed! Meet at the top of the off-ramp from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and wear work clothes. All equipment will be provided. Come and make some friends and show your support for a clean neighborhood! You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.

Food, refreshments, fun, DJ, prizes and great networking! Come to the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce August business mixer! It will be hosted by Caspian Services at the Hollywood Production Center Building at 401 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale on the second floor patio. Parking is free at the HPC structure on Orange Avenue. The cost is $7 for chamber members and $9 for non-members. The mixer is on Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, please call the chamber office or visit our website.
