The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station has received reports of more than twenty-five window smash vehicle burglaries since the beginning of 2010. Similar burglaries were also reported in the latter half of 2009. The suspects targeted locked vehicles with small valuables (purses, laptop computers, backpacks, etc.) left in plain view. Most of the burglaries occurred in parking lots along Foothill Boulevard, in both La Canada and La Crescenta, during the early evening hours.
Today, Tuesday, Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives served a search warrant in the 10000 block of Helendale Avenue in Tujunga as part of this investigation. Tony Davis, 30, and Krisi Jackson, 27, both from Tujunga were arrested at the residence. Evidence and stolen property were seized linking the suspects to several of the recent burglaries. The suspects are believed to have committed burglaries in other foothill communities.
Detectives are working with neighboring police agencies in an effort to identify additional victims.
The suspects were booked at Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station for Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property. Suspect Davis is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail and Suspect Jackson is being held on $20,000.00 bail.
Anyone having information regarding these burglaries is asked to contact the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station at (818) 248-3464. Citizens are also being reminded to conceal their valuables if they must leave them in their vehicles while parked.
