5th Annual Montrose Film Festival This Weekend!

It’s still summer out there, folks, and August is a prime “summer fun” month. What better way to celebrate than to join your friends, neighbors and merchants for an evening under the stars Montrose-style. Just like the old days, we’ll be popping free popcorn to serve at this year’s Film Festival. The action takes place next to Andersen’s Pets at the former site of the Montrose Theater. The whole family will enjoy watching “E.T.” this Friday night and “Raiders of the Lost Ark” Saturday. Spend the afternoon shopping and then join us at 6:30 p.m. for live music by The Subs and The Maestros. You can even order dinner from some of our favorite restaurants, served by Prom Plus Club kids!

I caught up with local Wundabar founder and celebrity trainer Amy Jordan, her new baby, and friend Michelle shopping the stores of Montrose. They were excited about their purchase at our newest on trend fashion spot, J’Adore Boutique with stylist Adrian Stark. Things are booming at Wunderbar and Amy is a walking testimony of how her unique program works. She just had her baby and her figure looks great! Amy is getting ready to open her fifth franchise but has a special place in her heart for the start of it all in the one and only Montrose Shopping Park.

Jason & Sarah Coker wanted their son Maximilian’s first haircut to be a special memory. So where did they take him? To none other than the Montrose Barber Shop (3810 Ocean View Blvd.) and Bennie Corona. Bennie, owner Jack, Vito and Lynn are all pro barbers who work in a friendly atmosphere. This is where the locals go and where fathers bring their sons. You walk into Montrose Barber Shop and get the feeling all is well in the world; it’s like home.
