Superior Court Judge David Yaffee has ruled for the city in its decision to uphold Glendale’s decision to revoke permits previously granted to the Montrose Collection Restaurant and Banquet Hall. The ruling by Yaffe upheld the City Council’s 2009 decision to revoke the establishment’s Parking Reduction Permit and Zoning Use Certificate. Owners of Montrose Collection had challenged the City’s rulings.
This week’s ruling supports the City’s efforts to enforce its zoning laws which are designed to protect the public health, safety and welfare and the tranquility of the City’s residential neighborhoods. Banquet halls are not permitted in the area where this establishment is located because it is a transition zone between commercial and residential neighborhoods.
