USC Verdugo Hills Hospital (USC-VHH) named Deborah Jordan, a noted local non-profit executive with 25 years of leadership experience, as executive director of the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital (USC-VHH) Foundation. Jordan assumed her position Aug. 25.

“Deborah Jordan brings a wealth of experience with non-profit organizations, and her knowledge and experience will be a significant asset to our hospital,” said Debbie Walsh, CEO of USC-VHH.

Jordan, a Foothills communities native, has worked extensively in the non-profit arena, serving as executive director of the Asia Society Southern California and the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge (CCLCF). She also served in leadership positions with the Milken Family Foundation and Milken Institute, the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and FasterCures.

John Genovese, chair of the USC-VHH Foundation board of directors, said the Foundation is fortunate to be working closely with Jordan on increasing community engagement.

“Deborah’s plan is to expand the communities we serve, and to deepen our relationships within these communities,” said Genovese. “We were very impressed by the research she did on our hospital and Foundation. Her ability to organize an operation and execute a plan are essential skills to the Foundation.”

Often recognized for her ability to create profound improvements, Jordan has many impressive accomplishments. Under her leadership, CCLCF recently completed its most financially successful year in nearly seven decades. In her first year with CCLCF, Jordan doubled fundraising and tripled it in just one year. Board membership and participation also increased under her guidance.

“I’m looking forward to increasing the fundraising activities of the USC-VHH Foundation and working alongside Debbie Walsh, members of our Foundation board and community members” said Jordan, who currently resides in La Crescenta. “Growing up in this community, this hospital has been an important part of my life. I’m deeply committed to the success of USC-VHH.”
