Life in the chamber can be pretty fun sometimes. While I’m out performing the paparazzi duties or that of an autograph hound, I get to enjoy the ribbon cuttings, grand openings, special events and all the other perks that come with the job. Such was the case last week when I enjoyed two events that were a lot of fun for me and everyone involved.
First off, thanks to Laura Agakanian and her husband at Babies, Bellies & Bosoms (2430 Honolulu Ave.) for the terrific ribbon cutting event last Friday. Great food, great hospitality and what a store! If things work out swell with the little lady and myself, we may have to come back in the future. (The distant future, hopefully, for my sake!) Despite my thick glasses, I can be pretty dull witted at times. I mean, breastfeeding looked simple enough to me. Who would have thought it could be so much painful work? Without people like Laura and Babies, Bellies & Bosoms, the world would be a much sadder place, with grouchy mothers fending off their ever hungry babies with surprisingly powerful gums, leaving a trail of teary-eyed fathers in their wake. For any new mother or even an experienced one, Babies, Bellies & Bosoms is a must for your breastfeeding needs. Thank you again for your hospitality, Laura!
Last week I also attended the CV Chamber’s Smart-A-Thon at Verdugo Hills Hospital. Great fun and an eye opener in regards to the obscure trivia. I had no idea how Superman flunked his Army exam until last week. And who knew that our own Captain Silversparre was Montrose’s answer to Vladimir Horowitz and Walter Gieseking? Congratulations to Chris Waldheim and J’s Maintenance for winning first place. Our MVCC team probably could have snagged the title, but I had to stay up all night watching ‘Mama’s Family’ reruns, much to the detriment of my cranial freshness. Note to self: next year, just TiVo the show.
New month means a new mixer. On April 7, we’ll be having our April mixer at Masis Bakery on 2064 Verdugo Blvd. Suite E. Come network and promote your business among the area’s business elite. For more information, contact me at the chamber’s office at (818) 249-7171.
Our annual golf classic is just around the corner on Thursday, April 22. If you haven’t signed up yet – well, what’s stopping you? Fun, food, and good times await us all. And don’t miss the awards ceremony afterward at Leo’s All-Star Grill. Call the MVCC office for more information!
The Chamber is open Monday – Thursday from 9:00 a.m.until 3:00 p.m., closed Friday. We’re located at 3516 N.
