UPDATE SUNDAY 10:18 p.m. -Power Outage

UPDATE-Sunday 10:18 p.m.

Two significant outages occurred in the Crescenta Valley and La Cañada area.

“The first [in La Cañada and part of the La Crescenta 91214 area] affected 2,255 customers and occurred at 6:11 p.m.,” said Paul Netter, Southern California Edison spokesman. “We don’t have a cause [as of yet] and don’t have an estimated restoration time.”

The second outage in the Montrose/La Crescenta area occurred at 6:21 p.m. and affected 475 customers, Netter said.

There is no known cause for the second outage and no estimated restoration time.

Although the SCE website states the reason for the outages as “weather conditions” Netter said he could not confirm that as the cause but would agree the weather could have played a role in the outage.

The website also states that “based on our initial assessment, it is possible that some customers in this outage may be off until Monday evening.”

However, Netter said crews have not given him a restoration time.
