The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce would like to help you have a happy childhood. Please join us to find your inner child at our 5th annual Hometown Country Fair on Saturday, April 17.
It truly is a great day of family fun and entertainment at Crescenta Valley Park at the corner of Dunsmore and Honolulu avenues. The fair includes a full day of entertainment provided by groups from the YMCA, Revolution Dance Center, Young Angeles Korean Choir, Jambazian Dance Academy, Crescenta Valley High School Jazz Band, Buddha Kung Fu, Erebuni Dance Studio, Orions Belt, Blake Dawson and the Kyle Frost Band.
We will also be having food including hamburgers, hot dogs, Korean barbecue with dumplings, salad and steamed rice and of course the obligatory fair food, cotton candy and sno-cones.
Also at the fair we will be having a dog parade at 2 p.m with prizes for the cutest dog, most obedient, best smile, best tail wager and best licker. There is still time to enter your doggie in the parade, too.
This year we will be having a pie baking contest. First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded for non-refrigerated pies made from scratch.
Another fair favorite is our car show featuring cars from every era with a special guest appearance from The Big Boy himself.
To date we have over 60 vendors with handcrafted items, delicious candy, beautiful soaps, handmade blankets, unique clothing for men, women and children, fashionable jewelry, toys, candles, dolls and much more.
The fair will also include a silent auction with over $2,000 of prizes to be auctioned. We have a membership to the Crescenta-Cañada YMCA, a six  week program for Extreme Boot Camp, one year free service from Allied Waste, a helicopter ride courtesy of Steve and Robin Goldsworthy, a fixed wing 45 minute airplane flight courtesy of Leo’s All Star Sports Bar & Grill, two rounds of golf at Angeles National Golf Club, a basket with certificates for Merle Norman Cosmetics, four free acting classes courtesy of 3-2-1 Talent Showcase Acting Studios and a restaurant/theater pack, too.
Then to really bring out that inner child, you can take a ride on the Ferris wheel or a trip down the giant slide. We will also have a rock climbing wall and bungee jumping. That should make you smile like a happy child or at least make your children happy.
