Y to Hold Prayer Breakfast
The YMCA of the Foothills is hosting its 26th Annual YMCA Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. and the program begins at 7 a.m. It will include a message about the power of prayer from actress Sarah Drew. She is best recognized for her role as Dr. April Kepner on the long-running hit drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” and recently lit up the silver screen in the new movie “Mom’s Night Out.”
Tickets for YMCA Community Prayer Breakfast are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Chosen People Ministries Rep to Speak
Michael Cohen, a representative of Chosen People Ministries, will be speaking at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. during the worship service. The program being presented is “The Messiah and the Feasts of Israel.”

Caesura Youth Orchestra Presented
On Sunday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., the La Sierra University Orchestra will present Dvorak’s Symphony 9 “New World” to benefit the launch of the new Caesura Youth Orchestra.
Directed by Dean Anderson, the orchestra will also perform selections from their CD “The Cross (Hymn Medley),” “All Glory Laud and Honor” and “It Is Well.”
The concert will be held at Glendale City Seventh-day Adventist Church, 610 E. California Avenue, Glendale.

Music, Chili and Fun
CVCHURCH concerts continue on Sunday, Nov. 16 from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a LIFT carnival and chili cook-off! Come and celebrate for free with some great music by the CVCHURCH band and special guests, enjoy great chili, watch the competition, play carnival games and have a good time in great company!
Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and/or grocery store gift cards for Sue’s Garden, a local food bank feeding 24 families in need. There will be food, music and vendors including NoTox natural soaps and lotions, ReTied Headgear, Pampered Chef and Rockarooz. There is a whole lot of free fun for everyone, so bring family, friends, coworkers and neighbors.

Tours, Craft Faire at LC Congregational
The oldest church in the Crescenta Valley, La Cañada Congregational Church (formerly Church of the Lighted Window), is opening its doors to the public for guided tours on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The church has been designated as an historical landmark and just celebrated its 117th birthday. Docents who are knowledgeable about its long history will lead the tours during the craft faire.
The tours are held in conjunction with the church’s Annual Art and Craft Faire that is on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Don’t miss out on this chance to experience the beauty and learn the interesting history of the church. There is no charge and all are welcome.
