Cub Scout Pack 302, based at Monte Vista Elementary in La Crescenta, took part in this year’s Scouting For Food drive organized by the Boy Scouts of America. On Nov. 8, Cub Scouts from the troop delivered empty bags (donated by Trader Joe’s) to households in the Monte Vista neighborhood. On behalf of the Verdugo Hills Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the troop asked for donations of non-perishable dry or canned goods that would be used to help hungry families in the local community.
On Nov. 15, the Cub Scouts went door-to-door to collect the filled bags. Cub Scout Pack 302 collected over 125 bags from the Monte Vista area, which totaled over 1,000 lbs. of food.
Pack 302 sends their thanks to the community for helping them with this food drive.
