The Boy Scouts of Troop 317 held a Court of Honor ceremony at Holy Redeemer Healy Hall in Montrose on Dec. 9. Through their hard work, dedication and in keeping with the ideals of Scouting, the following Scouts received various merit badges: Sean Salazar, Ethan Arellano, Sean Metz, Colin Carr, David Januzik, Ryan Januzik, Aedan Molina, Allister Quizon, Curtis Yun, Alexander Soewers and Joshua Ponce.

Troop 317 Scoutmaster David Januzik also presented rank advancements to the following Scouts: Ethan Arellano (Tenderfoot), Sean Salazar (Tenderfoot), Allister Quizon (Second Class) and David Januzik (First Class).

Honoring and supporting all the Scouts at the ceremony were parents, family and friends, including Assistant Scoutmasters Vinis Salazar, Margaret Metz, Roly Quizon, Dan Molina, Ralph Arellano and Harriet Hammons (BSA Verdugo Hills Council). Dawn Januzik (committee chairperson) officiated at the opening and closing of the ceremony.
