KIIS FM rocked the Crescenta Valley High School campus on Tuesday during break and lunch. Dom and Johnny B. from the FM radio station rolled onto the quad in their KIIS-mobile a little after 10 a.m.
“We are here in support of Prom Plus,” announced Johnny B.
The duo kept the music going as student members of the school’s Prom Plus Club drew names of seniors who participated in gift drawings.  L.A. Partyworks brought by a money booth where kids tried to capture as much play money as they could as it swirled around them.  Those with the most money caught won a variety of prizes donated by local merchants.
Prom Plus is an after prom destination event that gives seniors and their guests a place to go after they  leave the dance. Crescenta Valley High School students spend the evening from midnight to 5 a.m. playing in the casino room, perfecting their John Travolta cowboy skills on the mechanical bull, becoming a mountaineer as they climb the rock wall in addition to several other games offered.  The event takes place at the Crescenta-Cañada YMCA, through their generous donation of the facilities.
Throughout the year members of the organization raise funds to support the prom party.
On Saturday one of those fundraising events is Taste of Montrose.
“More than 20 restaurants in our local area have signed up to participate with Taste of Montrose. Tickets are only $20 and for that you get to walk up and down Honolulu Avenue and sample the
great food our restaurants have to offer,” said organizer Lisa Yeghiayan. “If you have ever been curious about a restaurant this is a great way to check them out.”
The event at CVHS was a way to give students a chance to win prom prizes and to answer questions about Prom Plus. Dom and Johnny B. also had their own give-a-ways.  They threw sunglasses, T-shirts and CDs out to the crowd of students.
“We have concert tickets to give away. Let’s have a dance contest,” Dom said.
Several talented students participated but it was
all over when freshman
Tyler White took off his jacket and walked to the center of the dance floor. To say he
is a really good at break dancing would be an understatement.
He started with a flip from the side and then there
were spins, pops and jumps.  Kids who were standing
back on the sidelines were drawn to the center as Tyler acted as a dance Pied Piper.
In the end he won the concert tickets.
