MTA APPROVES TRANSIT FUNDS
The Metropolitan Transit Authority board has approved funding for a Dash route connector to link the cities of Glendale, Burbank and Pasadena. The three cities have been planning a connector for some years as a possible link to connect the Gold Line and the Red Line.
The motion authorizes the allocation of $6 million a year for three years to the operators to be included and approved through the annual Transit Funds Allocations with the provision that subsequent funding be subject to re-evaluation and approval of the LACMTA Board.
Glendale also serves La Cañada -Flintridge, Los Angeles County areas of Montrose and La Crescenta, connects with Metrolink stations in Glendale and Burbank, and serves the Burbank boundary at San Fernando Road and Alameda Avenue.

Y HOLDING PANCAKE
BREAKFAST
The Crescenta Caañada YMCA is holding its 60th Annual Y-Tribes Pancake Breakfast this Saturday, May 8 from 6:30 to 11 a.m. at the Y’s middle parking lot.
A perfect early Mother’s Day breakfast, Y-Tribes dads and kids will be flipping jacks to support YMCA youth programs. The pancake breakfast is sponsored by local businesses and is an “all you can eat” event that costs $4 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased from any Y-Tribes member, at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA membership Office at (818) 790-0123 or on Saturday at the breakfast.

GLUTEN-FREE FAIRE PLANNED
The Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) Education Conference and Food Faire takes place on May 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Los Angeles Marriott, 333 S. NEW PUBLIC SITE OFFERS CRIME INSIGHTS
CrimeMapping.com is a new public site for mapping crimes in the Glendale area. A training video found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XSurKJGpt0 gives a quick overview on how the mapping works and what data will be displayed. This site is open mainly for the public and will show the type of crime, the street and block location but will not give any personal data.
