Choosing to make exciting new changes

There were many good changes in the Crescenta Valley this past week and great things are coming as well.
Congratulations to Grace Chase and the committee that brought the second annual Crescenta Valley Committed to Athletic Need’s Special Olympics to our town.  Nearly 150 athletes with disabilities were able to compete for medals last Saturday. And with over 300 volunteers, it shows the support and love the Crescenta Valley has for all of its residents and citizens, including those with disabilities.
Last Sunday brought the Taste of Montrose which not only helps our local restaurants by presenting their delicious food to the people of the Crescenta Valley but it is also the biggest fundraiser for this year’s Alice in Wonderland-themed Prom Plus. Prom Plus is held every year after the CVHS prom ends, and is a safe place for the high school kids to go to play games, eat good food and relax with friends.
Another great weekend is coming up in the Crescenta Valley May 15th-16th with the Foothills Relay For Life at Clark Magnet High School. This is a great 24-hour event raising money for the cure for cancer.
If you would like to help a new business that just opened, please join us this Saturday, May 8, at 1 p.m. at Mademoiselle Women’s Fashion and Accessories for their official ribbon cutting and grand opening.  They are located at 3442 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta and carry trendy, unique clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes, handbags, gifts and more. For their grand opening, they will be offering 10% off on all purchases made on May 8.
There are so many great committees to be involved with that do so many good things for our town. Come by the Chamber to find out about all the great things that are happening in the Crescenta Valley. The Chamber can be your number one source for help. It can help your business or just help you become more involved. You’ll feel better about volunteering for some sort of  helpful committee. In changing your path to help yourself….you may just change the world.
Important Chamber dates:
May 8 – Mademoiselle Women’s Apparel ribbon cutting; June 9 – Business mixer at Caspian Services. Please call our office to get more details on any event.
