Marion Frances Gustavsen (Gussy) [McDonald], 92, of Sunland passed away on March 15 in the Verdugo Vista Healthcare Center in La Crescenta. Burial service will be held at the Winton Cemetery (7651 W. Almond Ave., Winton, California) on March 28 at 11 a.m.

Marion was born on May 29, 1922 in Livingston, California to Mayme and Edwin McDonald. She attended Livingston High School and graduated in 1939. She went on to earn a typing and shorthand certificate from Modesto Junior College. She taught typing for the United States Air Force and was employed for 20 years for the City of Burbank as a secretary. After retiring, she returned to the City of Burbank Recycling Center to work an additional six years.

Marion enjoyed bowling, ceramics and genealogy. Later in life, she volunteered her time helping others for the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).

Marion is survived by daughters Kathleen Gustavsen (James Cass) of Diamond Springs, California and Karen Gustavsen (Carol McCausland) of Mount Tremper, New York; son Christopher Gustavsen of Tujunga; and her grandson Stephen Cass of Diamond Springs. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Ernest Gustavsen; her parents Mayme and Edwin McDonald; brothers Clyde McDonald, Edwin McDonald, Bobby McDonald; and sister Mildred Burkes.
