EPIC COMES TO CVHS
The theme for this year’s pops concert by the Crescenta Valley High School Instrumental Music Department is “Epic.” On Thursday, May 27 at 7 p.m. audiences will be transported with music from epic movies such as “Star Trek,” “The A Team,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “James Bond,” “Titanic” and more, as well as animated epics including “The Incredibles” and “Up.”  In addition to these performances by the CVHS concert band, string orchestra, and wind ensemble, the stylish CVHS jazz band offers jazz standards, a Stevie Wonder medley, and a “looney” surprise!  And classical music lovers will enjoy the symphony orchestra’s renditions of “Jupiter” from Holst’s “The Planets” and Stravinsky’s beautiful “Firebird Suite.” Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students (under age 12 free).  Call (818) 249-5871 X3106  for further information.
