As each week rolls around, the Crescenta Valley Youth Town Council finds more and more ways to bring this community together. For starters, our Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow event was a huge hit! The only downside was the downpour. However, it will be back (due to popular demand)! In addition, sixth graders will now be eligible to take part in the event. It will be held at the Montrose Travel parking lot in Montrose on Sunday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. If anyone is interested, please refer to our Facebook page, or find a Youth Town Council representative and they can give you a form. Vendors are asked to bring their own tables. Remember: This event will be held rain or shine! It is a great opportunity for the younger community to get a taste of business, and make some money in the process!
In addition to holding an event, the CVYTC will also be holding interviews for those who are interested in joining the council for the 2015-16 year. The application process is simple and yet urges the candidate to address each question with thought. If students, ages 14 and up, are interested, they may see their principal or find the application in their school’s administration office. Being a member of this council means that you wish to uphold all the duties and pride associated with being a La Crescenta citizen. It is a prestigious role, and only goes to those who are willing to dedicate their time and efforts toward a greater cause. After filing the application there will be an interview conducted by members of the council and their leaders.
In other news, Earth Day is quickly approaching. On Saturday, May 2, an event will be held at Rosemont Middle School, 4725 Rosemont Ave. in La Crescenta. Any interested participants can meet on the campus from 8 a.m. to noon, and take part in making our world a greener, and ultimately a more eco-friendly, place.
There’s a lot coming up in these next few weeks. Don’t miss out! Follow the Crescenta Valley Youth Town Council on their Facebook and Twitter pages for their periodic updates.
