Golf Classic and Disc Golf Scholarship Fundraiser

Our 19th annual golf classic and disc golf scholarship fundraiser is just around the corner. A week from today, Thursday, May 14 we will take over the Verdugo Hills Golf Course for a day of fun. You don’t want to miss this! Included in your entry fee is your lunch catered by Giuseppe’s Pizza, El Charro Restaurant, Gio’s Baguettes & More, Montrose Bakery and Café, ETC Gourmet Kitchen, Thee Elbow Room and Schreiner’s Fine Sausages plus beer from Tees on the Green.

Once again we will have disc golf. That’s right! Even if you aren’t a traditional golfer, you can still participate. You can create your own disc golf team, join an existing team or create your own mixed team. Disc golfers play on the same course as regular golfers. Registration is from 10:30 a.m. to noon, putting challenge is at 11 a.m., lunch is from 11 a.m. to noon and the shotgun start is at high noon. We finish the day with pizza and desserts and our scholarship and awards ceremony for graduating seniors from the CV High School and Clark Magnet High School. We will be raffling off various prizes and a Samsung Galaxy 6 Tablet. Great graduation gift for someone!  We still have room for more golfers. Our golf tournament is a fun way to spend the day all for a good cause!

We will be holding our first ArtWalk of the year on Saturday May 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along the 2300 block of Honolulu Avenue. Come out and take a stroll through town and see the artists, grab some lunch and do a little shopping.

Also once again the Montrose Chamber and the Montrose Shopping Park Association will be holding a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 25 at 8 a.m. at the Vietnam War Memorial in Montrose. It is located at the northwest corner of Honolulu Avenue and Ocean View Boulevard. Please join us for this brief ceremony in remembrance of all of our fallen war heroes.
