Kenneth Cleghorn
Kenneth William Carlyle (Ken) Cleghorn, a La Crescenta resident for 60 years, passed away at Verdugo Hills Hospital on April 21.
Ken was born at home in Burbank on Jan. 27, 1931. He served his country in the United States Air Force, worked making tile at Gladding McBean/Interpace Corp. on Los Feliz in Los Angeles. He was employed for over 35 years in the trucking industry working for Western Gillette, Delta Lines and Yellow Freight Systems. He was a teamster with Local 63, Past Master Councilor of Burbank DeMolay 1948, member of Tujunga Lodge No. 592 F.&A.M., Past Royal Patron, Golden Crown Court No. 2 and Order of the Amaranth.
Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years Maxine; sons Dean and Kenard (Carol), daughter Cynthia (Mark Seigel), sister Elizabeth Hines of Kentucky, brothers Paul Moates of Tennessee and Charles Moates of Kentucky, aunt Mary Frances Bardsley (Glendale), uncles Louis Bardsley (Oregon) and Cecil Cleghorn (Vallejo), cousins Isabelle Mitchell (Napa) and Norman Mitchell (Glendale) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 29 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 3561 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta. Memorial donations to benefit the Covina Masonic Home for Children may be sent to Grand Lodge F.&A.M., 1111 California St., San Francisco, CA 94108 in memory of Kenneth W. Cleghorn.
