The second annual Glendale Firefighters’ Walk in Fashion at the Glendale Galleria mixed fashion and fundraising on June 6. The event began at 1 p.m. on the second floor of the Bloomingdale’s wing at the mall. A sleek white catwalk was set up in front of Bloomingdale’s to accommodate the afternoon of fashion.

Throughout the day, 10% of the storewide purchases were donated to the Glendale Fire Foundation, which uses funds to facilitate fire safety in Glendale. Among the many supporters in the crowd were Glendale City Councilwoman Paula Devine and other prominent community members including Verdugo Hills Foundation and Glendale Memorial Hospital Foundation members. KNBC weathercaster Fritz Coleman served as master of ceremonies at the show, which he described as “Magic Mike with really nice clothes.”

The 14 participating firemen modeled everything from swim trunks to casual day wear to suits. Bloomingdale’s hottest men’s looks of the season were featured. Each model sported a unique look, demonstrating the versatility of the pieces on display. The charismatic firefighters strutted the catwalk with props and poses that made the fashion show even more memorable and enjoyable.

After the show, attendees were able to take pictures and meet with the firemen models as well as Sparky the firedog.

This event served to support and celebrate local firefighters for all they do while involving community members in the fundraising process to make it a successful and unforgettable event.
