The Campbell Center (formerly GAR) governing board has elected Wendy Jacoby as president of its board of directors, succeeding Eric Hamilton who served in that role from FY2013 through FY2015. Jacoby, a five-year member of the board, was most recently serving as recording secretary. With her family, she has been a strong and long-time supporter of The Campbell Center’s fundraising activities.
“I am very pleased by Wendy’s election to the presidency and know that she will do a stellar job guiding the organization through the next two years,” said Hamilton. “Throughout her tenure on the board, Wendy has shown a deep commitment to the mission of The Campbell Center which is a key ingredient in the success of the organization.”
A resident of La Crescenta, Jacoby’s professional career spanned 30 years in the insurance industry from which she retired six years ago. She devotes her time to her family and volunteer work with several nonprofits, most of which share the common thread of working with children and adults with developmental disabilities. These include Pasadena-based Club21 Learning and Resource Center, Special Olympics and Young Life, to name a few.
“I am honored and humbled to have been elected board president of The Campbell Center and look forward to working with all my board colleagues in ensuring that our mission and clients continue to be served with utmost integrity and dedication,” said Jacoby. “I am excited by the great possibilities that lay ahead for our organization as we creatively navigate through the ever-changing landscape of the state’s resources and nature of services to the developmental disabilities community.”
