Cowboy Church service was held at the Center for Spiritual Living-La Crescenta on Sunday. The annual service was the idea of Rev. Beverly Craig who wanted to share with her congregation her love of the romantic era of the cowboy while honoring America.
Craig was born and raised in Nebraska with memories of being on a farm and riding the open fields. The idea of the American cowboy to Craig brings images of God and country, and she thought there was no better way to celebrate Independence Day weekend than with the special service.
Karen Mitchell and the CC Wranglers entertained the congregation with cowboy music singing titles like, “Nobody Kisses Their Horse Anymore.”
After the service there was an old fashioned barbecue with pulled pork, pulled chicken, corn-on-the cob and, of course, cowboy beans. Members of Prom Plus Club danced and also served the barbecue meals.
