Tyler Mathew Sikora

Tyler Mathew Sikora, 15, suddenly was taken from his parents Tim and Colleen Sikora on Thursday, May 20.
In addition to his parents, Tyler is survived by this brother Devon Cullen; grandparents Tony and Debbie Jaeggi of Carlsbad; grandmother Donna Perna of Frazier Park; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Tyler was an eighth grader attending Rosemont Middle School in Crescenta Valley. He enjoyed playing basketball with his brother and friends. Tyler had several passions such as NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He had an uncanny sense of kindness in which he touched the hearts of whomever he met. For only being 15 years old, Tyler had a very positive attitude.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 27 at the Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church, 2700 Montrose Ave. in Montrose.
The family has requested donations be sent to the Sikora family in care of Citibank at 2621 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta, CA 91214.
Tyler will never be forgotten as he was loved by everybody….in particular, Simba, his cat.

Eleanor Genevieve Price

Born Aug. 11, 1921 in DeRidder, La. and passed away May 17 in La Crescenta at the age of 88.
Her youthful travels led her around the world and back never hesitating to tell her grandchildren of her adventures. Eleanor a long time resident of La Crescenta, enjoyed playing golf, tennis, reading books and volunteering with the local Girl Scouts. She was very involved in her church, Unity of the Valley. The last door she travelled through was the door to Heaven.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband George Price in 1982 and her son Scott Price in 2007. She is survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Crippen Mortuary Chapel in La Crescenta. For information, contact Crippen Mortuary at (818) 249-6131.

Leonard Belofsky

Leonard Belofsky, 79, of Sunland passed away on May 17. He is survived by his wife, Celia; son Joseph of Ft. Royal, Va.; and daughter Rachel of Sunland.
A veteran of the United State Air Force, Leonard will be given a private inurnment at Riverside National Cemetery.

William H. “Bill” Peters
Jan. 3, 1938 – April 9, 2010

William “Bill” Peters was born in National City, Calif. but grew up in Ocean Beach graduating from Point Loma High School in 1956 and San Diego State College in 1961 with a degree in mathematics. He passed away in Huntington Hospital in Pasadena from complications resulting from COPD and diabetes.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Collette; two sons, Matt (Annie) and 2 grandchildren in Canton, Mass; Greg in Escondido, Calif.; and daughter AnneMarie in Florida. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Glendale Council 120, and was a Past Grand Knight.
In 1963 the family moved to Pasadena where Bill worked for Vehicle Research Corp. helping to develop an air-cushion vehicle. He went to JPL in 1964 as an engineer/programmer and retired in 1999. He was on the cutting edge of the space program and was able to be a part of the Surveyor, Voyager and Mariner space exploration projects.
When his son Matt started playing tee ball in 1971, Bill began his “career” in Little League doing whatever he could to encourage its success. When Greg started playing tee-ball, Bill continued his involvement right up to March 28, the day he collapsed while helping to keep score at Montrose Park when he was transported to Huntington Hospital.
For several years he put together “The Rally Tally Weekly” that detailed the events of each of CVLL’s teams and its team members … scores, hits, runs, etc. but he was extremely careful never to criticize any child’s performance. He never wanted to discourage a child’s efforts as they tried their best to be a part of a team and have fun. Bill knew from the way the players rushed to see the “Tally” when it was handed out that they were excited to see if their name was in print, if not one week, perhaps another.
With his retirement, Bill had time to take on other projects for CVLL that required year round attention. He took on the job of gathering all the information needed to put the program book together on his computer, then getting it to the printer and distributing the books for the start of the season. He also took on the task of assembling information for the CV High School football program for several years. He had a lot of cooperation from many other dedicated people who got information to him, proofread and critiqued, but he felt personally responsible for making it perfect and making families feel good about seeing their kids in the book.
His website was never still. He was the “go-to” guy for his knowledge of computers, CVLL history, rules and general problem solving and he maintained the website for Holy Redeemer Church.
Services are being held on Saturday, June 5 at Holy Redeemer.
