Two graduates of the eighth grade at St. Bede Elementary School in La Cañada Flintridge were awarded scholarships for essays submitted that told of their heritage and service to the church and their community. The scholarships are awarded each year by the Italian Catholic Federation Branch 374 – ICF – at St. Bede the Venerable Roman Catholic Church. The students, McKenna Smith, first place winner, was awarded $250, and Nick Sarcel, second prize winner, was awarded $100.
Awards were presented at the June meeting of ICF by branch president Mark Mannarelli.
