SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED BY GLA
Congratulations to the following foothill students who received scholarship funding from the Glendale Latino Association. From Clark Magnet High School,

Daniella Vargas,
Vanessa Fonseca-Prieto,
Tania Salmeron
and Juliana Kim. The GLA awarded more than $18,000 to 24 seniors attending schools in the Glendale Unified School District.

SENIOR REFLECTIONS PLANNED
Crescenta Valley High School Senior Reflections program for the class of 2010 will take place Sunday, June 6 at 4:00 p.m. in the CVHS auditorium at 4400 Ramsdell Ave. Senior Reflections is one of the most memorable of all the graduation activities.
The program is created by senior students and their class officers, and is very inspirational, with humor and a multitude of memories thrown in. Senior Reflections is the only graduation activity where students can invite unlimited numbers of guests and it provides an opportunity for family and friends to take photos of their favorite student, in cap and gown, on campus. Faculty and staff will also be in attendance.
Senior Reflections is about an hour long and will be followed by a PTSA-sponsored reception for students and their guests. All seniors, parents, family, and friends are invited to attend.

PHOTO EXHIBIT BY AWARD-WINNING STUDENT
Award-winning student Anthony Avellano will have an exhibit at La Crescenta Library Community Room on Friday, June 4 from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 5 from noon to 4 p.m.
Photographer Anthony, 13, has been taking pictures for the last five years. In his travels, he has found inspiration in photographing nature, both in its panoramic grandeur and in its smallest detail. In December 2009, he was named a grand prize winner in the international “See the Bigger Picture” photography competition, co-sponsored by National Geographic and Airbus, and he was honored at an awards ceremony at the National Geographic Society in Washington DC. His winning photograph will be displayed in the various international headquarters of the Convention on Biological Diversity over the next year.
Anthony is a seventh grader at Rosemont Middle School. In his free time when he is not taking pictures, Anthony enjoys playing soccer, tennis, and hiking.
