2400 block of Orange Avenue in La Crescenta, the rear window of a vehicle was smashed but nothing in the vehicle was stolen or disturbed overnight.
July 29
1300 block of Descanso Drive in La Cañada, a resident reported leaving her home with all doors and windows locked. When she returned she found the dining room door open and noticed the glass panel on the door, near the handle, had been smashed. Nothing in her home seemed to be disturbed and nothing was missing. There were two people in the home at the time of the incident; neither reported hearing anything between
9:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
July 28
5800 block of Edmund Avenue in La Crescenta, someone vandalized a vehicle with some type of liquid, perhaps a clear paint lacquer, between
6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
July 24
3000 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a purse was stolen and the front passenger window was broken in a vehicle at about 6:30 p.m.
July 20
2700 block of Mountain Pine Drive in La Crescenta, a resident reported that she and her family left her home early in the morning. All windows and doors were secured. When she returned home she noticed one of the bedroom windows was cracked and broken. She discovered a metal rod had been left between the gate and slats on a fence. Nothing in the home appeared to be taken. Deputies found the exterior glass pane window was cracked and it appeared suspect/suspects had attempted to shatter the window with an unknown object. Deputies also discovered two small pry marks on an exterior door. The resident also found some packages hidden behind a large plant on her front porch that had been delivered while she was gone. One of the packages had been opened but the items were still in the box.
The attempted burglary occurred between July 20-26.
