The CV Skate Park is closer to becoming a reality. Construction firms are submitting bids with the process expected to be completed by Aug. 20. The award to the contractor will be in September with construction to begin in October. The skate park is scheduled to be completed by June 2016.
The skate park was conceived by local teens at the Fire House youth center who wanted a skate park of their own. With the support of Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation and the L.A. County Board of Supervisors Michael Antonovich, the teens held community meetings and worked with designers to create their own park.
Originally the ground breaking was scheduled for sometime later this month.
