California Philharmonic announced that concertgoers will be able to interact with KCET’s Community Kiosk during the Postcards From Abroad, the final concert of the 2015 summer season, on Sunday, Aug. 23 at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The KCET Community Kiosk, an interactive public engagement initiative, was launched in December 2014 as part of KCET’s 50th anniversary. The kiosk invites the community to become part in KCET’s 50th anniversary narrative, “Inspiring a Better State,” by asking the question: “How do you envision a better state?” Answers are then displayed on the kiosk itself and online. The kiosk has traveled to various locations throughout Southern California, including the Downtown Burbank Ice Rink, Grand Performances at California Plaza, photo L.A. in Downtown LA, and the Hollywood Farmers’ Market. The kiosk has generated many interesting responses and continues to travel to cultural institutions and civic centers throughout the year to involve as many community members as possible. Responses may be seen at http://www.kcet.org/about/50/participate/index.html.
