Disturbance on Cloud Avenue

On Monday at about 5:45 a.m., a resident on Cloud Avenue contacted the Glendale Police Dept. to report two men fighting in the street.

Upon arrival, officers found two men down in the front yard in the 3700 block of Cloud Avenue. One man was minimally responsive and the other was unresponsive but breathing.

Both men had injuries consistent with a significant altercation and one man was bleeding due to cuts on his neck.

An investigation revealed the two men had apparently drove to the area and got into a fight over drugs. The fight spilled out into the street and one of the men, a 28-year-old Los Angeles man, produced a knife and cut the other man’s (the victim’s) neck. Officers reported locating a knife where the fight had occurred and a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine.

A search of the vehicle revealed 15 small plastic bags containing a white substance resembling methamphetamine and second glass pipe.

Both men were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim sustained numerous bruises and scrapes throughout his body, facial swelling and a three-inch laceration on his neck. The Los Angeles man sustained minor bruising.

At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined the drugs and pipes belonged to the Los Angeles man. After he was treated at the hospital, he was placed under arrest and booked for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and assault with a deadly weapon.
