For those who have ever driven by local restaurants and wondered what was beyond those doors or had heard of a restaurant but have never have the time to check it out… well the time to check out those eateries is coming up at the annual Taste of the Foothills event.
On Nov. 5 the Ralphs Market Place parking lot will be filled with about 17 different food-tasting booths with local restaurants donating samples of their menu items.
“One of our goals is to introduce residents to local restaurants,” said Lisa Dupuy, executive director of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber is hosting the event that is a fundraiser not only for the organization but for local schools too. The Chamber supports businesses and the community including providing scholarships for local youth.
Taste of the Foothills also supports local schools.
“Schools will get 20% back from the cost of the ticket when [ticket buyers] fill a dine-out form,” Dupuy said. The dine-out forms will be available at the local schools or by calling the Chamber office.
There will also be live music by classic rock band “Faith Alone” during the Taste of the Foothills event. Tables will be set up for diners as they sample the best of the best restaurants in the area.
“You won’t go hungry,” Dupuy said.
Taste of the Foothills is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for children 5 years old to 12 years old. Tickets can be purchased at the event or at the CV Chamber of Commerce office at 3131 Foothill Blvd. and CVW office at 3800 La Crescenta Ave. Ste. 101. Tickets purchased before the event will be discounted $1.
