Holiday Hike

The City Of Glendale Community Services & Parks Dept. is hosting a holiday hike at Deukmejian Wilderness Park on Saturday, Dec. from 9 a.m. to noon.

The year 2015 is coming to a close and things are starting to get hectic. Leave the stress of the holiday season behind and join us on our holiday hike. Participants will take it slow and quiet over two miles at a slow pace while looking for seasonal items, plants and animals.

This program is for all ages. Holiday themed snacks and drinks will be provided. RSVP at (818) 548-3795. Sponsored by Glendale Parks and Open Space Foundation.

Deukmejian Wilderness Park is located at 3429 Markridge Road in La Crescenta.

‘Winter Wonderland’ Snow Day at Two Strike

The public is invited to enjoy a special day in the snow sponsored by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, featuring a toy give-away, snow play, Christmas music and a special appearance from Santa Claus! This is a free event.

The snow day is Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. in La Crescenta.

CVWD Board Meeting

The scheduled meeting for the board of directors of the Crescenta Valley Water District for December is on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Meetings are held at CVWD’s administrative office located at 2700 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta at 7 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.

A Time of Gratitude

American Legion Post 288 is planning to send care packages to all local military personnel away from home this Christmas season. The community is asked to provide the name to the Legion of any family member – solider, sailor, airman or Marine – who is serving our nation away from home this Christmas. They may be overseas or stateside. The Legion needs their name, rank, branch of service and military mailing address.
