Kimberly Still Missing

As one family is looking toward closure regarding their missing daughter, another local mother still struggles for answers about her missing loved one.

On June 5, 2014 Kimberly Blum drove over to her sister’s home in the Briggs Terrace area of La Crescenta to help prepare for a family party. Everything seemed normal but sometime around 4 p.m. Blum got into her car, left her sister’s home and was never seen again.

Her mother Rosalie and other family members have been in a state of limbo since that night. There has been no word; her credit cards have not been used and her car has not been found. The Blum family knows all too well what Megan DiPiazza’s family has been going through.

“My heart goes out to Megan’s family,” Rosalie said.

The Los Angeles Police Dept. is taking the lead in the investigation since Blum had recently moved to the Sunland area; however, as with DiPiazza, MSR and LASD patrol and air units are always searching for her while doing regular patrols. MSR has gone out several times to continue the search in the ANF for any sign of Blum or her vehicle.

The family had hired a helicopter to search and family and friends have walked miles within the ANF looking for her. They are concentrating in the ANF because personal items belonging to Blum were found along Angeles Crest Highway shortly after her disappearance.

It is important to Blum’s family that her name and photo stay in the public view just in case anyone finds any clue as to where she is.

“There isn’t anything new [with the investigation],” Rosalie said. “Her family still misses her so very much.”

A $5,000 reward has been established for any information leading to Blum. Information can be sent via email to reward.kimberly@gmail.com.
