Mediator and family law attorney Mark B. Baer, with offices in Pasadena, has been named “Best Collaborative Divorce Practitioner – California” in Acquisition International’s 2015 AI Legal Awards. Presented each year to “the key figures who have, through the quality services they provide and their commitment to moving the sector forward, established themselves as thought leaders and assumed their position at the head of the legal pack” in all areas of law. Vance Adams from La Crescenta has been named to the fall 2015 dean’s list at McMurry University. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking 12 or more credit hours.

Sierra Rhoads from La Crescenta has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester at the University of Vermont. Rhoads is a Class of 2017 dietetics nutrition & food sciences major in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.

To be named to the dean’s list, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20% of their class in their respective college or school.

Angela Gaignard, from Sunland, earned a spot on the fall 2015 president’s list at Southern Arkansas University. Gaignard, a senior, is an athletic training major.

Gaignard was one of 275 students named to the fall president’s List. To qualify, a student must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester.

Amelia Palacios, the daughter of Maureen and Jorge Palacios of La Crescenta, has been named to the dean’s list of Macalester College for academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2015-16 school year.

A graduate of Crescenta Valley High School, Palacios was a junior at Macalester last fall.

The dean’s list at Macalester College is published at the end of each semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list a student must have been registered as a full-time, degree-seeking student and may not have been on a study away program. Furthermore, a student must have achieved a semester grade point average of at least 3.75, 12 or more credits on a regular grading option, no grades below C-, and no withdrawal or incomplete grades for the semester. Grades for activity, practicum, and technique courses in dance, music, and physical education are not factored into eligibility for the dean’s list.

Kyle Patterson has been named to the Champlain College dean’s list for fall 2015. Students who are named to the dean’s list have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Patterson is majoring in management of creative media.

More than 3, 500 Baylor University students were named to the dean’s academic honor roll for the 2015 fall semester. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Symeon Stefan was named to the Miami University president’s list.

Miami University students who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average for first semester 2015-16 have been named to the president’s list recognizing academic excellence.

Stefan, from La Canada, is earning a Bachelor of Art majoring in microbiology, premedical studies.

Miami University is a public university located in southwestern Ohio, offering more than 120 degree programs in humanities, science, engineering, business, education and fine arts.

The University of Rhode Island announced that 4,986 undergraduates have qualified for the fall 2015 dean’s list. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island’s cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, other states and 18 countries.

Among those named was Eduardo Hermosillo Guzman of Tujunga.

To be included on the dean’s list, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average qualify for the dean’s list. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.
