Scholarship Opps from CSF
The Community Scholarship Foundation of La Cañada Flintridge (CSF) has announced that the 2016 scholarship applications are now available. CSF is a community-supported foundation established in 1964 with the goal of enabling any student to attend college, university, or a trade/technical school upon completion of his or her secondary school studies. Fulltime students who attend a pubic or private school located within the city of La Cañada Flintridge, as well as Crescenta Valley High School, regardless of home residency, are eligible to apply for scholarships. Additionally, students receiving services associated with Hathaway Sycamores and HIllsides Pasadena are also eligible.
CSF scholarships range from $500 to $2,200 per student. Last year, CSF awarded scholarships to 19 students totaling $23,000.
Minimum criteria for eligibility include a 3.0 unweighted grade point average and documented financial need. High school seniors should check with their college counselor or visit the CSF website. Financial need is based on information each applicant provides via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and is determined by a professional financial aid consultant employed by CSF.
All required school and financial documentation, along with reference reports must be received by April 30. Award recipients will be notified in May, and awards will be sent directly to the recipient’s schools of choice. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at a luncheon on Sunday, June 19 at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a CSF sponsor.
Scholarship applications can be downloaded from the CSF’s website at http://www.csflacanada.org, or obtained at the college counseling offices of La Cañada High School, Flintridge Preparatory School, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, Hillside School and Learning Center, Saint Francis High School, Crescenta Valley High School, Hathaway Sycamores, and Hillsides Pasadena.
